Welcome to the UPC Show with Curtis Haring, Dylan McDonnell, and Bob Kubicheck!
In the first half: Well, they dun did the thing: The legislature passed sweeping tax reforms that have riled people up to the point where a formal petition process has begun. But UDOT is looking ahead on tax issues related to funding roads by starting a new taxation process for electric vehicles. Oh, and speaking of the wisdom of the legislature – remember how they overturned the will of the people on Medicaid expansion? Well, the grand plan didn’t work, and now the State of Utah basically has the plan the people asked for all along.
In the second half: Senator Lee is working quietly behind the scenes to help the president during the impeachment trial (never mind the fact that he is a juror in said trial), the Elections Office is just, plain, ignoring the Utah GOP, one lawmaker is calling for more liquor stores, and Spencer Cox appears to be holding his own in his bid for governor, despite one Jon Huntsman throwing his hat into the ring.
