When major businesses like Patagonia and others reacted to Utah’s efforts to have lawful National Monuments rescinded and resized by the Trump administration and a GOP congress, the economic impacts to the state’s Travel and Tourism industry was immediately calculated with a better understanding of the “opportunity costs.” Utah’s executive branch decried the use of “negotiating via the media,” which some would describe as a very effective tool.

This week, the Herbert administration wanted to ramp down the rhetoric, while at the same time, the legislature heard more plans to sue over federal lands. Utah Political Capitol’s audio report is 3:55 min long:
