Welcome to the UPC Show!
For this episode, Curtis is joined by UPC writer, Alex Cragun.
On today’s show, the guys take a look at the recent Gamergate scandal and how Anita Sarkeesian chose not to speak at Utah State University…not because of the death threat against her, but because, legally, people could carry a gun on campus even with this information.
Mia Love and Doug Owens got together this past week, Curtis recaps the event, talks about the huge cash advantage Love has, and how the best response by Democrats was to buy hamburgers.
In the second half of the show, we discuss some interesting studies and hearings that took place on the Hill during last week’s interim session. None other than our own Alex asked for a tax increase to fund public transit, lawmakers spent three times as much energy on changing clocks when compared to discussing intergenerational poverty. Also, our state is estimated to have between $70 to $200 million more this year thanks to updated revenue figures, but some of that may be poorly spent by the Governors Office of Economic Development.
Today’s closing song: Uprising – Muse
