10th Circuit Ralliers Give Arguments Between Honks of Support

After the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments in the challenge to Amendment 3 of Utah’s state constitution, a rally in support of equality and LGBT pride was held in Salt Lake City. The justices in Denver heard that Utah wants to decide who can marry based upon their concept of “state’s rights.”

Just before the court convened earlier on Thursday, April 10, 2014, Utah’s Attorney General had also asked the court to effectively nullify any existing and future adoptions that were based upon the brief window of time that allowed a limited number of same sex marriages to occur. The birth certificates of a number of children are now being challenged as well as the validity of their parents’ civil nuptials.
